The Importance of Volunteers
At Purfleet Primary Academy we welcome volunteers to support the work of the school and to support those wishing to gain experience in a school setting.
All volunteers at Purfleet Primary Academy will be made to feel welcome. The types of activities that volunteers are engaged in include:
- Listening to children read
- Working with small groups of children
- Working alongside individual children within the classroom
- Accompanying school visits
Becoming a Volunteer
The school regularly receives offers of voluntary support and requests for voluntary placements which we welcome; however we are limited to the number of volunteers we can accommodate at one time. For this reason the school operates a volunteer waiting list system in accordance with our Student & Volunteer Policy which can be found in the 'Policies' section.

Purfleet Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. If we are able to offer a voluntary placement, we will contact you to invite you in for an interview. An enhanced DBS check may be necessary according to the nature of the placement.
