Applying for a Reception Place at Purfleet Primary

In-Year Admissions
The in-year admissions process is for parents who need to apply for a school place for their child during the school year. All in-year applications must be made directly through Thurrock Admissions.
By law, all children aged 5 to 16 must receive full-time education. This means that your child should continue attending their current school while the Thurrock School Admissions Team processes your application for a new school place.
If you are moving into the Thurrock area, we recommend submitting your application as soon as possible to avoid any delays in securing a school place.
Application Process
The Thurrock School Admissions Team manages all school applications and will notify us when your child is next to be offered a place. Once this has been confirmed, we will contact you with the admission paperwork and arrange a start date.
Please note that we are unable to offer a school place without authorisation from Thurrock Council.

Admissions Policy
REAch2 Academy Trust is responsible for determining Purfleet Primary Academy's admission arrangements in agreement with Thurrock Council, the local admissions authority.

Appeal Process
If your child's application for a school place is unsuccessful, you have the right to appeal the decision.

Essex County Council currently provides the independent admissions appeals service for families whose applications have been unsuccessful. Please follow the guidance provided by Essex County Council to submit your appeal.
If a place cannot be offered at this time, your child's name will remain on the waiting list in accordance with the school's admissions criteria. Waiting lists are maintained by the Thurrock School Admissions Team, and places are offered when vacancies become available. Being on a waiting list does not guarantee that a place will become available, but your child will remain on the list until a place is offered or until the waiting list period ends in accordance with the local authority's admissions arrangements.
